Each year we have our annual Bake Off. Each family in the community bakes a special dessert. But the real fun comes when each presents a commercial to promote their treat.

In this episode of Celebration Night, contestants try to build the strongest bridge using limited materials. Can tape, straws, cardboard and balsa wood be made to carry the heavy load that will brought to bear on them? Which team will win? Unwrap a stick of gum with socks on your hands. Chew and blow a bubble as fast as you can.

YOUR MISSION: Build a tower as high as you can that can hold as much weight as possible with out falling down.

MATERIALS: toothpicks, gum drops, strip of cardboard, hunk of clay, styrofoam bowl.

Food Creations was a activity we had one Celebration Night to make interesting sculptures out of food.

First we had to decide what ingredients to use.

Add a little bit of time, a little creativity, mix together…

I didn’t know that being read to and having the story brought to life by our resident artist would be so fun. It’s better than TV!

We enjoy a night of various board games.

A night of fellowship and batting a little ball back and forth. Quite fun!

A couple times each year we spend our Celebration Night being taught by our kids. They proudly show us what they’ve been learning.

During this Celebration Night we tackled various challenges. Here we had to make shapes and accomplish various tasks blindfolded.
